Branford selectmen approve listing of 1999 town boat for sale, alcohol exemption for summer events, and multiple appointments

The Branford Board of Selectmen on June 3 approved a set of administrative actions including the listing of a surplus police boat for sale, an alcohol exemption for two Community Center events, and multiple reappointments and appointments.
Police Chief Jon Mulhern asked the board to list the 1999 Boston Whaler Justice Boat (Hull ID US-BWCLA214J899) and all affixed equipment, including two Yamaha outboard engines (model LF200XCA and F200XCA), on GovDeals.com. Selectman Raymond E. Dunbar, Jr. moved to approve the request; Selectman Jeffrey E. Vailette seconded and the board voted unanimously.
The board also approved an exemption requested by Rhiannon Turco, Activities Director, under section 115-4 of the Code of the Town of Branford to permit serving beer and wine at a Focus Group on Monday, June 29, 2026 and at a Happy Hour and Entertainment event on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Selectman Dunbar made the motion to approve the exemption, Selectman Vailette seconded, and the vote was unanimous.
In addition, the board confirmed several reappointments and appointments: reappointments to the Branford Green Committee (David Mincozzi, Cynthia Wright and Susan Winkel), the Commission on Elderly Services (Alpha Coiro and Patricia Torre) and the Inland Wetlands Commission (Clarice Begemann and Susan Botta); and appointments of Patrick Byrne to the Branford Bicycle Pedestrian Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee, Christine Wall as an alternate to the Inland Wetlands Commission and Amy Bloom to the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library board. Motions for these actions were made by Selectman Dunbar or Selectman Vailette and passed unanimously.
The meeting minutes record that the board approved the May 6 and May 20, 2026 minutes (with one correction to the May 6 minutes) and adjourned at approximately 4:39 p.m. The minutes do not record public comment, further debate, or detailed conditions regarding the approved actions.
