ABC Unified tables proposed boundary consolidation maps for more community review

Trustees probed resident‑student counts, middle‑school and high‑school feeder overlays, and potential walkability and transportation impacts. Several trustees expressed concern that some reassignments left a significant gap in the number of resident students between neighboring elementary attendance zones, and asked staff to produce alternate scenarios that would better equalize resident totals and include feeder overlays.
After discussion, trustees voted to table the consolidation vote and directed staff to return with additional options and data; the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said they will rerun scenarios (including options that keep certain Ferguson area residents with Hawaiian Elementary and alternate north/south splits), provide overlays that show middle/high‑school feeder patterns, and prepare updated resident counts for the board and community ahead of the next meeting.
