YARMOUTH, Mass. — The Yarmouth Planning Board received a brief update on the McK site utilization project at its June 3 meeting: town staff said contracts with R&D and BSC Group are being finalized under a MassDevelopment grant to study concepts that include a sports facility and housing.
Planner Kathy said the town is finalizing scopes with the selected firms; the study will analyze design options, sewer needs and environmental protections (the site lies in parts of a Zone 2 well-protection area). Town staff estimated the consultant phase will take roughly 12–18 months to complete.
Why it matters: the McK site study will shape whether the town pursues sewers, field construction or housing on a municipally owned parcel and will inform future permitting and budgeting choices.
