Fraser Recreation Commission elects vice chair and secretary, welcomes new appointee

The Fraser Recreation Commission on June 2 elected Commissioner Hunter as its vice chair and Commissioner Hunt as its secretary and welcomed Wendy Rafki as a newly appointed member.
Under the commission’s bylaws, Commissioner Cook automatically succeeded to chair; commissioners then voted to fill the vice chair and secretary posts. Commissioner Hunt moved to approve the meeting agenda and Commissioner Hunter seconded; the agenda and the April 7 minutes were both approved by voice vote. During officer elections, the motion to elect Commissioner Hunter as vice chair was made, seconded by Commissioner Raki, and carried; Commissioner Hunter said, “I’ll accept that position.” A separate motion to elect Commissioner Hunt as secretary was seconded by Commissioner Hunter and also carried.
The commission formally welcomed Wendy Rafki, whom the chair said had been approved by the city council. No roll-call tallies beyond the oral votes were recorded in the meeting transcript; Commissioners Hunter, Hunt, Raki and Cook were present and Commissioner Relli was recorded as absent.
The meeting ended with a motion to adjourn that carried on a voice vote. The commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for July 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Rams Horn.
