Dr. Morris Lee to retire after 15 years; board and community honor his service

Dr. Morris also highlighted recent accomplishments, including a graduating class he described as the largest the district has had (477 students). He thanked board members, past and present, naming several individuals and community partners that he said contributed to the district’s progress.
In his remarks Dr. Morris offered a personal reflection on priorities: "I hope you know that my greatest title has never been superintendent. It has been husband and dad," he said. The board planned a reception after the meeting to continue the celebration.
Principal Van Allen was identified in the meeting as offering a blessing for the refreshments before the reception. The transcript records many expressions of appreciation from board members and community partners during the recognition portion of the meeting.
