Paris board hears updates on roads, water work, parks and playground upgrades

At its Oct. meeting the Paris Town Board received staff updates on road maintenance, water infrastructure, parks programming and equipment plans.
Highway staff reported the fog-seal resurfacing on Gang Factory Road is complete, Greens Crossing work is finished, and crews are assembling leaf trucks and preparing for winter operations. Staff described routine equipment repairs and discussed options for disposing or trading older equipment; auction values were estimated in general terms.
Utility and public-works staff said Hubard Construction plans to begin pump-station work imminently and Bellamy Construction will handle pipeline, valve and hydrant replacements; work is expected to continue through the onset of winter. County GIS personnel have been mapping outfalls and catch basins to support MS4 storm-water compliance.
Parks staff reported 43 pavilion reservations this year generating $3,415 total; 20 reservations were by residents (totaling $1,335). The transcript lists the non-resident revenue as "$2,80" (truncated), which is unclear and flagged as such in the meeting record. Parks staff also said New York State fisheries proposed three potential fishing locations on or near town property; one location (near the Stone Road water outlet) appears potentially feasible pending an access and parking assessment.
Virginia Park improvements were described: new playground equipment (a swing set, a smaller play area, two spring toys and two diggers) was reported as arriving and scheduled for installation Oct. 27.
