Jeff Edelman, an applicant representative and resident, told the commission that SCDOT did not approve the smaller turn lanes and that the off‑site right‑turn lane would be a more robust improvement benefiting both the new subdivision and existing nearby neighborhoods. Town traffic staff confirmed the lane would reduce delays where left‑turning vehicles from Cherokee Trail now block right‑turn movements and that the revision was acceptable to town staff and SCDOT reviewers.
A commissioner moved to approve the revised mitigation; the motion was seconded and the vote was recorded as unanimous.
