Community organizers win CB11 backing to proceed with side‑streets Open Streets near Zimmerman playground

Board members asked clarifying questions about timeline and safety; the project leaders said they secured public-safety sign-off from the 49th Precinct and submitted a detailed budget. The leadership committee previously voted to send a letter supporting the Bronx Park East Farmers Market USDA promotion grant, and CB11 leadership confirmed the Open Streets application will move forward with board follow-up and support as needed.
Next steps: Organizers were asked to share the written operating plan and grant documentation with board staff and to coordinate with committee chairs on any permits or additional approvals.
