Assembly approves marijuana license transfer, contracts, land sale and Providence reimbursement

The assembly also authorized contract FY2027-01 to lease space in the Northstar building to the Su'naq (Sunnak) tribe for expansion of preschool and early-childhood programming; the motion passed unanimously.
Land sale and rezoning: Resolution FY2026-16 was amended and adopted to subdivide part of USS 3465 lot 1A-4 into four lots, rezone them from PL to R2, and dispose of the property through a sealed-bid auction. The assembly approved an amendment clarifying occupancy/certificate-of-occupancy timing before adopting the resolution unanimously.
Providence reimbursement: The assembly considered and authorized reimbursement to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for design costs associated with an air-handling unit project using HZA Engineering. Manager Williams said Providence would handle rooftop-unit design and that RNR-fund usage was being refined; the motion passed unanimously.
