Monroe recognizes Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee and student projects tied to America 250

Monroe Township recognized the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee at the council meeting. Kyle Johannes, the committee coordinator and adviser, said 16 students were selected from a pool of about 300 applicants to serve during the year and meet monthly with township officials to learn local government operations. The students work with department heads on learning projects and complete a final project; this year’s initiative is a history fair at the Dy Farm site associated with America 250 events.
Certificates were presented to the students named on the agenda; officials said a short recess followed the presentation so the council could take photos.
