Ark Northwest Mississippi reports expanded summer programs serving hundreds in Olive Branch

Rebecca Treadway told the Olive Branch Board of Aldermen the Ark Northwest Mississippi is running multiple summer programs, serving 265 campers in Camp Bold and launching new programs (Garden Guardians, Glow and Grow) with a combined summer goal of more than 1,000 participants in June–July.
Rebecca Treadway, executive director of Ark Northwest Mississippi, briefed the board on June 2 about an expanded summer schedule that the agency says will serve hundreds of local residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Treadway said Camp Bold will serve 265 campers supported by 245 counselors. She described a new Garden Guardians program at the Ark office for 60 participants with 25 counselors and a Glow and Grow Studio program serving 18 people. Treadway told the board the organization aims to serve more than 1,000 people during June and July through camps, social clubs, exercise classes, art and cooking programs and two family events.
Treadway described several client success stories: a young man who entered a day program at short notice with Ark’s help, an adult with autism who transitioned from counseling and job-readiness coaching into a full-time position at Hernando Goodwill, and a client placed in a behavioral home after two years of support. She credited coordination with regional centers and Medicaid where appropriate.
Board members thanked Treadway for the work and congratulated the Ark on recent outcomes. Treadway asked for continued city support and emphasized the local impact of the programs.
