In public comment Tula Amana, who identified herself as the owner of Flashback Diner and two other restaurant ventures in Davie, said she will run for the District 3 council seat in November. Jacqueline Roacha told council she has repeatedly tried to meet with the mayor about development near her street and said past encounters led to code‑enforcement responses. Roacha said she filed to oppose the mayor’s seat and asked for integrity, transparency and preservation as campaign priorities; she also quoted an earlier encounter where code enforcement informed her neighbor she had “pissed off the mayor.”
Jim Scrum, a Long Lake Ranches resident and retired law‑enforcement officer, raised safety and nuisance problems related to dirt bikes, ebikes and late‑night trail use on a nearby open trail. Scrum said the neighborhood plans to install gates and is willing to contribute funds and requested town assistance for locks and signage to reduce trespass and improve safety.
Mayor and staff thanked the speakers and noted staff follow-up on resident requests.
