Grand Marshall thanks board as Sound Shore St. Patrick's Parade honors 9/11 first responders

McAuley said schoolchildren will lead the parade carrying American flags bearing the 81 names on the Westchester County First Responders Memorial and that multiple municipal fire and police departments — including the villages and towns of Mamaroneck and Larchmont and the Yonkers departments — plan to attend. “There’s 81 names on that memorial,” he said, and noted the parade opening will include a special presentation of those flags.
Trustees thanked McAuley and invited parade organizers to position themselves in front of the board for an appearance. No formal action was taken during the work session; trustees encouraged community participation and noted there is room for additional marchers.
