Clearfield County commissioners approved Resolution 2026-2 to support a pass-through Act 13 Greenways, Trails and Recreation grant application of $250,000 to develop a pocket park at 24 North Second Street (Rack Pocket Park).
A Redevelopment Authority representative and a presenter identified as Lisa described the project’s public-input-driven design, noted revisions to remove turf due to trip-hazard concerns for seniors, and said infrastructure and drainage work already completed by a contractor (Earth Movers) will support the additional concrete surfacing. The Redevelopment Authority will serve as the project administrator and is providing a $37,000 match; the presenter said the original project estimate of about $415,000 was reduced to $250,130 through design changes.
The Board moved and seconded the resolution; it was approved by voice vote. County staff confirmed the county’s role would be a pass-through (no county capital funding or administrative burden beyond the pass-through agreement).
