Shannondoa Woods work begins; board updates residents on redevelopment progress

Warminster supervisors on May 21 told residents the Shannondoa Woods redevelopment has moved from planning to active site work, with contractors removing old slabs and foundations under an agreement with the redevelopment authority (RDA).
Supervisor Kenner and township staff confirmed the first payment application to the RDA was submitted in May and that contractors have begun slab and foundation removal at the site. Officials said the project had been dormant for many years and that the current effort will create more than 55 acres of open space in the county when complete.
Township staff also reported discussions with congressional representatives about federal funding to finish subsequent phases of the project. Supervisors urged residents to avoid the fenced work area, noting heavy equipment and hazards and reminding the public the area is closed to trespassing while work continues.
The board said it will provide updates as the RDA processes payments and the contractor advances the work.
