The fellowship’s grant support from the UNC School of Government reduces the county’s required contribution to $10,000; the program covers remaining salary, benefits, and housing arrangements.
Commissioner Jason Chappell moved to authorize participation in Cohort 8 and allocate $10,000; Commissioner Larry Chapman seconded the motion and the board approved it unanimously.
Next steps: the county will proceed with the fellowship enrollment process and coordinate onboarding and assignment details with the Clerk to the Board and the Lead for North Carolina program administrators.
