The Board approved the reallocation of up to $135,921, with billing limited to actual hours worked and state reimbursement rates applying as with full‑time employees. Vanderoef said one new full‑time employee had already started and additional candidates were expected, and that contracted staff are fully trained and can begin immediately while newly hired employees require roughly three months of training.
Commissioner Jason Chappell asked about contract flexibility; Vanderoef confirmed services could be scaled down if permanent staff are hired sooner. Commissioner Jake Dalton moved the reallocation contingent on incorporating County Attorney comments; the motion passed unanimously.
