Eastham officials, colleagues honor retiring town manager Jackie

EASTHAM — Colleagues and municipal leaders paid tribute to Jackie, Eastham’s town manager, at the opening of Monday’s reconvened town meeting.
Speakers including Rachel Butler, Adam Bohannon and Rich Bienvenue praised Jackie’s calm leadership during emergencies and her record of hiring and mentoring staff across Cape towns. “She’s had some of the best hires on the Cape. And other towns are jealous,” said Adam Bohannon, Eastham’s police chief, who noted he worked in Eastham for 25 years and six as chief.
Other speakers, including Brewster Town Manager Peter Lombardi and Assistant Town Manager Rich Bienvenue, described Jackie as a supportive mentor and a steady presence during the pandemic and local emergencies. Several speakers noted she helped onboard and support other regional managers and staff.
The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance, led by Amy, and applause for Jackie’s remarks. The tribute concluded before the meeting moved into the remaining warrant business.
What’s next: Jackie’s retirement will be followed by town-level personnel transitions; the meeting proceeded to consider zoning amendments and other warrant items.
