Tisbury CPC boosts administration budget to cover overlap as long-serving chair and administrator prepare to leave

The Town of Tisbury Community Preservation Act (CPC) Committee voted unanimously on March 9, 2026, to increase the Administration line on the CPC warrant from $25,000 to $50,000 to cover the cost of paying two staff members during a training overlap.

Chairman Paul Munafo, who told the committee he has served 20 years as chair and will complete his at-large term in 2026-27, said "it was time for another person to take the reins." Administrator Heidi Dietterich said she was "tired" and believed "fresh eyes" would be helpful for the committee's future growth.

Committee members said the double-salaries expense is a temporary training cost while the town advertises and brings a replacement up to speed. Munafo and Dietterich reported they had met with the Town Administrator, a Select Board member and Human Resources Coordinator Pam Bennett to discuss recruitment and transition steps.

The motion to increase the Administration line was made by Carolyn Wallis and seconded by Connie Alexander; it passed by unanimous vote. Committee materials noted the current $25,000 allocation was not sufficient to cover paying two staff during the training period.
