WEDDINGTON — The Weddington Town Council unanimously approved the Arya subdivision (CZ 2025‑03) on June 9, allowing a nine‑lot, gated private development that the developer says will feature fully custom homes with price points starting in the low‑millions.
Town planner Greg summarized the application as a conventional subdivision of nine lots (one existing lot plus eight new homes) with private roads and two cul‑de‑sacs. Developer Jeremy Schumacher of Arcadia Homes said the company has built more than 100 custom homes in the region and described expected home sizes of roughly 5,500 to 9,000 square feet and all‑in price points beginning above $3 million, with some homes likely in the $5–$6 million range.
Council conditioned final approval on town staff review of stormwater calculations and related engineering submittals; Greg and staff will review construction drawings and confirm compliance with the town's Unified Development Ordinance before permits are issued. "We anticipate each and every home to be a fully custom‑designed home," Schumacher told the council.
The council read and adopted the development standards as part of the conditional zoning motion and voted unanimously to approve the ordinance and the associated land‑use consistency statements.
