Ashland County committee awards $10,000 in recreation grants across three projects

After debate the committee adopted a motion allocating $2,000 to Glidden, $3,000 to Bay City Cultural Center and $5,000 to Butternut Area Park Association. The motion carried on a roll-call vote (three yes votes; one abstention).
Erica, the grant writer who said she has worked with Glidden and Bay City, offered to connect Butternut with additional grant opportunities to support the ADA restroom project. Committee members noted many ADA grant programs still require local match and urged applicants to pursue multiple sources.
The committee asked staff to document awards and notify applicants; awarded funds will be subject to the usual grant agreement and documentation requirements.
