Board schedules Washington Avenue application pending new plans, launches short land-use study

Separately, the board introduced a short land-use study for Washington Avenue intended to inventory current conditions and potential exposures along the corridor (from Grant to Belford, per discussion) and to identify uses the town might want to encourage or restrict. Members emphasized the study is an evaluation — not a redevelopment plan — and asked staff to prepare a simple RFQ so planners can deliver use scenarios and policy options for future ordinance or master-plan consideration. The board also noted the master plan has not been comprehensively updated since 2012 (with a reexamination in 2022) and discussed forming a task force to scope a fuller master-plan update in the near term.
