Historic board approves minutes, asks attorney to add alternates to bylaws

The Greenburgh Historic and Landmarks Preservation Board approved its Feb. 10 meeting minutes with a minor textual correction and voted to ask the board attorney to draft a change to the bylaws allowing alternates.

Chairperson O'Shea said she found "one minor correction" in the minutes concerning a description of a Sears‑kit garage and asked the board to approve the record as corrected. A member moved and the board approved the minutes by voice vote.

Later the chair proposed a resolution directing the board’s attorney to prepare language adding at least one alternate member to the board so the panel would not be hampered if membership fell to five. Chairperson O'Shea said, "If we could get at least one alternate, maybe two, it would mean changing some of our legislation or just including maybe an extra paragraph." The board voted in favor of asking the attorney to prepare the amendment and to forward it to the town board for consideration.
