The proposed Genetec Security Center implementation supports conversion of 43 existing cameras, expansion capacity to 80–100 cameras, and a design retention target of 30 days. The base project cost was presented as $53,045 with a recommended 20% contingency for a total not-to-exceed $63,654; the Board approved the purchase and implementation, noting a $70,000 CIP allocation for the project.
Staff highlighted strategic advantages of the Genetec platform including unified security management across City and BPW facilities, future integration with access control (Mercury-based platforms), and improved incident response and audit logging. Implementation services, configuration, and training are included in the base scope. The motion to approve the purchase carried unanimously.
