Bradley Beach Borough Council approved several finance-related measures: it accepted Resolution 2026-163 to terminate a shared-service agreement that placed CFO Janette Larrison on a 10-hours-per-week arrangement with Manchester Township (termination effective June 30, saving roughly $30,000), and it adopted temporary emergency appropriations under Resolution 2026-164 to maintain services while the 2026 budget undergoes Department of Community Affairs (DCA) review.
The presiding council member and other speakers thanked Larrison for her service and praised the borough’s full-time finance staff for recent work cleaning up finances. The meeting record shows the shared-service contract had been for $56,000; the borough will use Larrison for part of the contract period and will move to a full-time CFO hired by the borough going forward.
Administrator and council members said the introduced 2026 budget was returned by DCA with questions and required changes; the borough is working with DCA on revisions. Staff said they are aiming for a budget hearing on June 16 but acknowledged the hearing could be pushed into July depending on DCA timing. Council moved to adopt temporary appropriations to keep lifeguards, police, DPW and other services funded until the final budget is adopted and approved.
