After public pushback, supervisors schedule a public presentation on Collinsville proposal

A member of the public, Michael Hayes, criticized the California Forever/Collinsville concept and said investment should focus on Mare Island in Vallejo. "This just falls into the typical real estate nonsense...Mare Island is where all the investment needs to go," Hayes said during public comment.
Kim Deocampo, a Miwok community member and local mental-health advocate, raised concerns about a county-sponsored "American Indian Healing Circle" run by Agape Counseling and asked the board to investigate facilitator qualifications and whether the county's sponsorship reflected meaningful community input.
Chair Mashburn said the Collinsville concept is allowable under the current general plan but emphasized the board has sole land-use jurisdiction over the unincorporated area and asked staff to bring a presentation on April 22 that explains what is and is not permitted and, if available, any proposer concepts. "I would like for them to be able to see it and to weigh in, in a public fashion," the chair said. Several supervisors agreed to keep the April 22 agenda lighter to accommodate public interest.
