Both motions were seconded and passed by voice vote; committee members asked staff to confirm allowable uses and to seek coordination with Centennial promotional budgets.
Heritage trees: The committee considered two heritage‑tree applications (1809 Live Oak Lane and 1024 Ocean Boulevard) and approved both by voice vote, describing one specimen as a 50‑inch live oak of notable character.
Free replacement program recommendation: The committee moved that the city automatically offer a free city‑planted replacement tree — and stump removal if appropriate — when a dead or ill tree is removed, as a way to reduce removals via arborist letters and to help restore canopy. The motion passed by voice vote; members suggested staff evaluate whether to incorporate the program into Chapter 23 or to implement it administratively.
