The Ohio County Board of Education approved personnel recommendations and items 6.1–6.7 on the consent agenda during its June 8 meeting.
The board moved, seconded and voted to accept personnel items as presented; the motion passed unanimously. Later the board heard questions about several consent items, including workers' compensation and purchased items (Motorola Solutions radios for $25,994; Advantage Technology network work for $59,668), and then approved the consent agenda without opposition.
A high volume of public comment followed on a separate agenda item about proposed changes to district start times; after hearing many speakers the board did not take formal action on start times and set the issue for further discussion at the June 22 meeting. The board also noted upcoming meetings—a June 22 regular meeting, a July 6 special meeting to swear in a new board member, and a July 13 regular meeting—and adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
