Frank Murphy, a longtime member and vice chair of the South Dennis Historic District Commission, announced his resignation during the Commission's May 20 meeting, saying he is moving off-Cape.
"I'd like to submit my resignation from this board due to moving off Cape," the departing member said. Chair and other members thanked Murphy for his service; the Chair noted Murphy had served as vice chair since 2022 and had handled meeting technology and note-taking for amendments.
The Chair asked members to consider who might serve as vice chair and to volunteer for Murphy's operational duties (managing the meeting screen and taking amendment notes) at the next meeting. Staff member Becky was asked to coordinate with members and prepare a vote to fill the vice-chair role at the next scheduled meeting.
Murphy's resignation takes effect immediately; the Commission will proceed with a vacancy and expects to vote on a replacement and reassign operational duties at the next meeting.
