The South Dennis Historic District Commission on May 20 carried application 26-198 (Bass River Lane) to its next meeting after no one appeared to represent the applicant and members found the submitted drawings unclear.
Chair said the submission lacked clear before-and-after elevations and that photos and drawings were inconsistent. "It's really hard for me just looking at the pictures to discern what it is we're actually being asked to revise," the Chair said. Members agreed the applicant should attend in person or online to walk the Commission through the proposed changes.
Committee member S5 formally moved to carry the application to the next meeting; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. A member noted a recusal requirement by an individual living within 300 feet of the property, and Chair asked staff (Becky) to contact the applicant and ask them to be present next month with clarified and consistent drawings and, if possible, redlined revisions that show before-and-after conditions.
The Commission did not discuss the merits of the proposed alteration on the record; carrying the item preserves the applicant's opportunity to present and allows the Commission to make an informed decision once a representative and clearer documents are present.
