Burlington selectmen approve preliminary budget, authorize First Selectman to sign bridge grant application; easement referral tabled

The Burlington Board of Selectmen on Feb. 24 unanimously approved a preliminary town budget and authorized First Selectman Douglas Thompson to sign the Local Bridge Program supplemental application for Alpine Drive over an unnamed stream (Bridge No. 0200002).
First Selectman Douglas Thompson reviewed the town budget, including components tied to Region 10, and described the next procedural steps: a planned joint session with the Board of Finance and an opportunity for Department Heads to answer questions. After Thompson’s presentation the board moved, seconded, and voted unanimously to approve the preliminary budget presented by the First Selectman.
On infrastructure, the board unanimously passed a resolution authorizing Thompson to sign the state supplemental application and any associated agreements related to the Alpine Drive bridge project. The motion was recorded as moved by Selectman Goshdigian and seconded by Selectman Plourde.
A Planning & Zoning referral to rescind the Virginia Trace construction easement prompted a request from Selectman Goshdigian to see the easement’s language and learn in whose favor it runs. Mark Crowley, who identified himself as a party interested in buying the property, spoke about his intentions for the parcel. The board moved, seconded, and unanimously voted to table the item pending further information.
