RPOS committee approves minutes, schedules work day and hears park maintenance update

The Birmingham Township Recreation, Parks and Open Space Committee approved minutes, recorded routine business and scheduled near-term maintenance tasks at its April 20 meeting.
Vice-Chairman Stan Benarick moved to approve the February 2026 minutes; Mr. Miersch seconded and the motion passed unanimously. (The meeting agenda header recorded ‘‘Approval of April minutes,’’ but the motion and minutes text refer to February 2026 minutes.) No bills were presented. Chairman Brian Bonkoski noted the township may need additional rails soon.
The committee noted a need to schedule a work day for fence repair along Meetinghouse Road; Bonkoski said he will email members to coordinate. Committee members also reported that Sandy Hollow is in good condition and that Cel’s Tree Service completed approximately $1,200 in trimming and hazard-removal work along Spackman’s property and New Street. There were no public comments. The next RPOS meeting is scheduled for May 18, 2026. Chairman Bonkoski moved to adjourn; Ms. O’Neill seconded, and the meeting was adjourned at 7:09 PM.
