Council previously authorized $7,610,000 for the project; staff said regulatory changes during the TWDB application process reduced the funding amount. The revised program funding request is $5,500,000. Staff explained the program’s estimated cost and noted the proposed structure could include principal forgiveness for part of the amount and a loan covering the inventory portion at 0% interest. Staff indicated a local match of up to $2,485,000 (approximately 51% of program funding) may be required depending on the final award.
Administration recommended approval. Council approved the resolution by voice vote. Staff said the project and related CIP entries remain in the adopted CIP and that funding sources could include the TWDB program and water revenue bonds for the construction portion if needed.
