MDT to present a regional transportation study at May 20 open house; public invited

David Saslav announced that the Montana Department of Transportation will hold an open house on Wednesday, May 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the City Hall Gibson Room to present a comprehensive, long‑term transportation management study.
Saslav quoted the MDT description: the study is "to create a comprehensive long term management plan, in response to anticipated impacts from planned development and military activities impacting the region." He said the event will include representatives from the Federal Highway Administration, military interests, local jurisdictions and resource agencies, and that Sentinels‑related traffic impacts are among the longer‑term issues to be considered.
Saslav urged residents who care about future highway and rail needs to attend and ask questions; he noted from publicly available materials that the Sentinel project’s transportation impacts are likely to be realized over several years and that this open house is an early opportunity for public input.
