Board elects Brandon Marron as chair and Derek Danis as vice chair

Following the Chair's announcement that this was their last meeting, the board nominated and unanimously approved Brandon Marron as chair and Derek Danis as vice chair.
The Chair told members this would be their last meeting as a Board of Fire Wards member and said they would abstain from voting because of residency status. “This is my last meeting as a Board of Fire Ward member,” the Chair said.
A board member nominated Brandon to be chair; members moved to elect and the Chair called for the ayes. The Chair announced the motion carried and called the result unanimous, making Brandon Marron the new chair of the Board of Fire Wards.
The Chief then nominated Derek as vice chair; the nomination was seconded and members voted in favor. The Chair announced Derek Danis was approved as vice chair and congratulated both appointees.
The board completed both leadership votes during the regular meeting; members did not register dissent on the floor during the recorded discussion.
