Jacki McNamee of Woodard & Curran briefed the Carlinville City Council on a series of water and wastewater projects at the May 22 special meeting. McNamee outlined planned lead service-line replacements for 2024, 2025 and 2026 and described a Highway 108 water-main replacement from School to Colt Road and from Alton Road to City Square.
McNamee also provided updates on the Shein Tower Project, a 2-inch water-main replacement plan, the Nutrient Assessment Reduction Plan (NARP) and the Wastewater Treatment Plant Facility Plan. Public Works Director Tim Hasara and Greg Frieden (Woodard & Curran) answered questions from the public and described next steps for the wastewater plant study.
Kevin from Meco Engineering gave a high-level overview of upcoming road projects; the meeting record does not include detailed schedules, cost estimates or firm start dates. No formal project approvals or budget votes occurred during the session; follow-up council action will be required to authorize construction contracts and to allocate funds.
