Carlinville council approves appointment, equipment purchases and holiday hours

The City of Carlinville City Council unanimously approved several administrative items and purchases at its Nov. 17 meeting.
The council appointed Ron Lewis as Assistant Coordinator for the Community Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) after a motion by Alderman Ober and second by Alderman Link; the motion passed 6-0.
The council approved the purchase of a 2003 Ford F650 dump truck for the wastewater treatment plant to assist with sludge hauling for $25,000 (motion by Alderman Link, seconded by Alderman LeVora). Council also approved buying a snowplow and salt spreader from Woody's Municipal Supply Co. for $19,077 to outfit new Lake/Public Works trucks (motion by Alderman Link, seconded by Alderman Ober). Both equipment purchases passed unanimously.
On personnel scheduling, the council voted to allow city employees a half day on Dec. 24, 2025, and a full day off on Dec. 26, 2025 (motion by Alderman Ober, seconded by Alderman Brockmeier); the motion passed 6-0.
