Board directs staff to update Little Lehigh Acres parking ordinance after resident petition

Upper Milford Township supervisors on April 17 directed staff and the township solicitor to proceed with an update to the parking ordinance for Little Lehigh Acres after residents submitted additional signature support.
Supervisor Angela Ashbrook said she was satisfied the neighborhood had been notified and supported the change; the Osteen family supplied the signatures. Resident Phil Casey questioned the roughly $3,200 estimate for signs and installation and asked whether ordinance rewrite costs had been factored into the decision. Colt Hershinger asked whether students — who also pay fuel taxes — would be affected by limiting street parking.
Supervisor John D. Zgura moved that staff and the solicitor proceed with the ordinance update; Supervisor Ashbrook seconded. The motion carried with all supervisors voting in favor.
The board did not set a timetable for installation of signs or for a final enacted amendment; the motion authorized staff and counsel to prepare the ordinance rewrite for future consideration.
