After a public hearing with no speakers, the commission approved the first reading unanimously.
City Attorney Taylor Olson presented Ordinance 1173, which updates municipal code sections to align with state statutory changes from the most recent legislative session. That first reading likewise passed on a 5–0 vote.
Staff Planner Lisa Weidner presented Ordinance 1168 on second reading, which revises Section 25.F to allow uncovered front porches and decks to extend the full length of a building rather than being limited to a four‑foot width. Commissioner Victoria Siemieniewski praised the increased flexibility for residents; the second reading passed 5–0.
All ordinance actions recorded unanimous support; future procedural steps include preparing final ordinance text and publishing adopted changes where required by statute.
