TULLAHOMA, Tenn. — The Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted unanimously on a slate of routine contracts, purchases and license approvals at its June 8 meeting.
The board approved a $7,500 performance agreement with the band 6 Wire for the city’s Independence Day celebration, noting the group has performed at that rate for about a decade. Parks & Recreation staff described the act as the main performance for the holiday program.
Public Works brought several items for approval: the board approved purchase of a 2026 F‑350 pickup truck from Ford of Murfreesboro at state contract pricing for $74,270.70; staff said the purchase is fully reimbursable under a stormwater grant. The board also awarded a three‑year paving contract with three one‑year renewals to Volunteer Paving, the low bidder; Public Works staff said the winning bid was $3.50 less per ton than current pricing, representing roughly $53,000 in annual savings and allowing the city to pave one or two additional streets.
The police department received approval to renew annual software support for its records management system with M and M Microsystems for $13,000 (07/01/2026–06/30/2027) and to purchase a 2023 Chevy Blazer for $24,000 using School Resource Officer (SRO) grant funds. The board also authorized the police department to begin applying for the state SRO grant program (the grant provides up to $75,000 per SRO position for salary support).
Finally, the Beer Board approved several permit applications and a special event permit (including Carroll Street Liquor, Liquor Locker & Wine, T Town Lounge, and a waiver of fees for a Highland Rim Kiwanis Club event at Bridal Stadium on July 3) by recorded votes, each carried 6‑0.
Public Works staff and the police chief provided the briefings and answered technical questions; no items were continued. All items described above were approved by unanimous vote.
