The Williston City Commission on April 28 approved the final subdivision plat for the Energy Center Subdivision, a rearrangement of lots in the Williston Square Planned Unit Development to accommodate future right-of-way and a proposed private indoor youth sports and recreation facility.
City Planner Kent Jarcik described the plat as combining portions of previously recorded subdivisions (Sloulin Field First Addition, Williston Square Subdivision and the PSAP Subdivision) and said adjacent parcels were zoned C-2 (General Commercial) or C-3 (Restricted Commercial), making them compatible with the proposed mixed-use development. The commission approved the plat by unanimous vote.
The plat approval clears a planning step for the Energy Center and related infrastructure work tied to 3rd, 37th and 38th Street West and 8th Avenue, and is intended to support commercial, retail, office and residential development that includes space for the Williston Ice Hockey proposal and a private youth sports facility.
