The Williston City Commission on April 28 awarded two equipment contracts following bid openings by Public Works Director Kenny Bergstrom.
For the forestry department’s bucket truck, Bergstrom said the only bid was from Custom Truck One Source of St. Paul, Minnesota, for $183,129; the commission voted 5–0 to accept the recommendation.
For a 2025-or-newer landfill cover machine, Bergstrom said two competitive bids were received and recommended the low bidder. Swanson Equipment Co. of Minot was awarded the contract for $97,800; the commission approved the award 5–0. Commissioners asked why the low bid was about $77,000 below the budget estimate; Bergstrom explained the budget included startup materials and additional buffers for initial use.
Both awards were approved by unanimous voice vote.
