Williston panel approves 202 Brix beer-and-wine license, tables North Flats transfer

The Williston City Commission on April 14 approved a beer-and-wine on‑sale license for 202 Brix at 202 1st Ave E Suite 2, replacing the business’s existing domestic winery license.
President Klug opened the public hearing, said the Liquor Licensing committee had reviewed and recommended the application, and closed the hearing after no public comment. Commissioner Bervig moved to approve the license; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Gjovig and passed 5‑0.
On a related request, North Flats Brewery sought to transfer its general off‑sale license to 313 Main St Suite 101‑B and to activate on‑sale privileges after completing renovations. City Attorney Taylor Olson advised the commission that state law and routine inspections require the physical space to be complete before the on‑sale license can be awarded. "I do not believe we can award the license until the space is complete and has passed all inspections," Olson said. The commission agreed to table the transfer; Commissioner Bekkedahl moved to table and Commissioner Gjovig seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The approvals and the tabling were taken by voice vote with all five commissioners voting in favor where applicable. The commission did not receive public comment on either item.
The commission’s actions allow 202 Brix to operate under the beer-and-wine on‑sale license; North Flats’ transfer will be considered after the business completes required inspections and the city confirms compliance with state licensing rules.
