Williston awards $360,301 street-light wiring contract to Denny’s Electric

Public Works Director Kenny Bergstrom told the board five bids were received and said staff’s recommendation was to accept Denny’s Electric’s bid for areas one through four (Pheasant Run Parkway, Westlawn Park, adjacent to Wilkinson School and West Broadway) in the amount of $360,301. "Our recommendation is to accept Denny’s Electric in the amount of $360,301.00," Bergstrom said.
Commissioner Bekkedahl asked whether the wiring is in conduit and whether poles could be straightened as part of work; Bergstrom replied many lines are non-conduit because conduit was not common practice when pole systems were first installed, and that pole straightening had been done during prior wiring work and will occur where reconstruction permits. Commissioner Bervig moved to award the contract; the motion carried 4–0.
The contract award covers all general conditions and the four project areas listed in the staff recommendation; commissioners did not identify additional contingencies during the meeting.
