Commission approves two Flex PACE buydowns for business expansions

The Williston City Commission approved two Flex PACE applications Oct. 22 to support local business expansion and property rehabilitation.
Anna Nelson, executive director of economic development, presented a Flex PACE application for GST Casing to add onto an existing property at 5047 Jackson Street, requesting a buydown not to exceed $53,000, and a request from Kaiser Oilfield Services to purchase and rehab property at 13866 Front Street for shop space with a buydown request not to exceed $43,000. Commissioner Brad Bekkedahl moved approval, Commissioner James Bervig seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Tate Cymbaluk asked whether a property in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction might require Williams County cost-sharing; City Administrator Shawn Wenko said he would review the matter and report back to the commission. The approvals were granted subject to any standard conditions of Flex PACE funding and program rules.
