Jason Olsen, chair of the Price City Library Board, told members at their May 11 meeting that he will resign in June because he is moving out of the area. The board was told that the appointment of a new chair will take place at the June board meeting and that any interested board member should come forward then.
The announcement came during the board’s informational comments portion of the meeting. Olsen called the meeting to order and later said his departure will require the board to select a new chair during the June meeting; no candidate names were offered during the session. The meeting minutes record the roll call and routine approvals that preceded the announcement.
The board also approved routine business during the May meeting, including the March 9 minutes and the monthly program reports and statistics. Public comment was recorded as none. The board is scheduled to present an update on library activities to the Price City Council at its May 13 meeting.
The next regular board meeting will follow the Utah State Library’s mandatory annual training on June 8 at 1:00 p.m., which the minutes state all members must attend.
