Duchesne County commissioners on Monday approved a package of routine contracts, interlocal agreements, grants, licenses and fiscal items in a series of unanimous votes.
Deputy Attorney Grant Charles reviewed an updated State of Utah court security contract that covers July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027; the commission authorized the chair to sign. Commissioners also renewed the interlocal cooperative agreement providing for the Uintah Basin Narcotics Strike Force after Daggett County joined the program, and approved a revised Utah Wildfire Resource Memorandum of Understanding that governs procurement and compensation for wildfire response outside jurisdictional areas.
Economic Development Director Kori Wilde presented a Main Street Matching Grant application from Southern Jewel Salon for $10,000 to resurface flooring and upgrade lighting; the commission approved the grant. Chief Deputy Clerk-Auditor Lexie Clayburn presented three new business licenses (Big Tine Equipment Rentals LLC, Mountain Home Store, Deadflesh Productions LLC) and a beer license for Mountain Home Store; those licenses were approved.
Deputy Attorney Charles also described a LexisNexis subscription for the Attorney's Office; the commission approved the subscription to support in-office legal research. Clerk-Auditor Chelise Curtis presented Board of Equalization valuation adjustments for several parcels with specified tax shifts; the commission approved the adjustments. Human Resource Payroll & Benefits Administrator Jamie Park presented payroll of $962,270.59 for 227 employees for the pay period ending May 23, 2026 and the vouchers for June 1, 2026 (checks 173004–173095) totaling $403,848.89; both were approved.
Nearly all motions were made by Commissioner Jeff Chugg and seconded by Commissioner Tracy Killian; each recorded motion passed with Commissioners Chugg, Killian and Chair Greg Miles voting aye.
