Applicant Jason Turnbull told the committee the intended use is family-oriented hobby farming for small livestock and said he expects to comply with the animal-unit limits.
The town of Hayward provided a signed recommendation form indicating approval at the town level, and staff reported that adjacent agricultural zoning and a nearby hobby-farm operation make the request compatible with surrounding uses. After brief discussion and a motion to approve with findings of fact, the committee recorded a unanimous vote in favor of the rezone.
The approval was conditioned on compliance with applicable provisions of the Sawyer County zoning ordinance and any required town or state permits; staff noted there were no proposed lot splits and an existing single-family dwelling on the property would remain.
