Ammon Council declares surplus, transfers Sensus equipment and awards vehicle maintenance contract

The Ammon City Council on Feb. 5 approved Resolution 2026-003 to declare certain city items surplus and approved two operational decisions related to city equipment and services.
City Administrator Micah Austin reviewed the list of items proposed for surplus and said the council would transfer the Sensus tower equipment (collector/rectifier) to the City of Kimberly at no charge. Councilmember Heidi Boyle moved and Councilmember Kris Oswald seconded approval of Resolution 2026-003; the roll-call vote was unanimous.
On a separate procurement item, City Clerk Joanna Dahm summarized results from a vehicle maintenance services RFP that produced two bids. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Wally's Auto Repair, which scored highest and met RFP criteria. Councilmember Oswald moved and Councilmember Fullmer seconded approval of the contract; the motion passed unanimously.
City Administrator Austin also noted Fire District surplus vehicle discussions and clarified that proceeds from surplus sales would go to the city's Fire Rescue account if the city holds the assets.
