Greenfield-Central board approves claims docket, donations and 10¢ school-lunch price increase

The Greenfield-Central Community Schools board approved its monthly claims docket and several routine items, including grants and a modest meal-price increase, during its meeting.

Board business began with approval of the minutes and a motion to accept the claims docket presented by Mr. Day, the district finance presenter. Mr. Day told trustees the claims package included regular payroll items and a construction claim tied to the high-school tennis-court project. After a motion and second, the board voted to approve the claims docket.

In business information, staff reported donations to multiple schools: Harris Elementary received $875 from an anonymous donor plus a $500 bounce-house rental contribution for field day; Greenfield Central High School received $1,000 from the National Guard for the radio and TV program. The board approved donations totaling $2,375 as presented.

The board also approved a recommended 10¢ increase in paid-lunch prices for the 2026–27 school year. Amanda Stout, identified in the meeting packet as director of food services, recommended the increase as the federal minimum necessary to satisfy paid-lunch-equity requirements and to keep the meal fund solvent. Mr. Day said the district’s prices remain below county peers despite the increase.

Other routine approvals included second readings and board adoption of four policies updated for recent legislation (firearms/weapons, school wellness, responsible-use-of-technology, and wireless communication device policy). All were approved by voice vote.

The board adjourned after personnel actions and other agenda items were completed.
